Dial the yard and it is Curtis on the line, or one of the crew who actually rides the trucks — no phone tree, no scripted call center. Walk us through what makes your move tricky — a turning staircase in an older Carriage Town bungalow, a Grand Blanc basement that has to come up flight by flight, the long rural pull out to Goodrich — and we have the whole day mapped before your date lands.
We walk your rooms one by one, fold the wardrobe boxes, pads, dollies and shrink-wrap straight into that figure, and hand it to you in writing — so once the truck is in your driveway, nothing new ever shows up on the tab. That is what Budget stands for here: an honest up-front price, not a rental-depot counter.
Give us the kitchen for dish barrels, let closets ride across on the hanger in wardrobe cartons, or simply flag the mirrors, flat-screens and glass tabletops — those we build a fitted crate around for the road. Your call on how much we handle.
Whoever sizes up your rooms at the estimate is the crew chief steering the truck and doing the final walkthrough with you — a Davison ranch, a Flushing two-story, a third-floor place near UM-Flint, the job never gets handed off partway.
Everything else folks ask about — pricing, licensing, basement and attic hauls, college move-ins, winter timing, the long rural drives, and how your things stay protected — is answered further down.
Our part: Give us the room count, whether we are walking straight out or hauling up from a full basement, and how the street and driveway sit on your block — and before we shut the office for the night, a figure in writing is usually already in your inbox.
Your part: Come with both anchor dates — move-out and move-in — and any codes for the building, garage or gate; that is what tightens a ballpark into a firm price.
Our part: We line up driveway and street access, book the elevator window at a college-area building, clear whatever certificate of insurance a property manager keeps on file, and in winter get the walk shoveled and salted — so the truck parks at the door and nobody has to carry a dresser half a block.
Your part: Hand us your two anchor dates — the one you must be out and the one you can move in — and tell us which of them cannot move.
Our part: Dressers and sofas disappear under moving blankets and a wrap of stretch film, and every bit of hardware pulled off a bed frame or table gets bagged, tagged and taped right to the piece it came from.
Your part: Label your own cartons with the room they belong in on the far end, and keep passports, keys and small valuables riding in your own car, not the truck.
Our part: Whoever loaded the truck is who unloads it — each piece set where you want it, bed frames bolted back together, and every scrap of used wrap and tape hauled back out with us.
Your part: Walk the emptied rooms alongside the crew chief before the truck pulls away, while anything needing a quick touch-up still can get it.
Tell us your home size, the date you have in mind, and roughly what is coming with you, and the same day we send a written estimate straight to your inbox. Nothing is due up front and there is no deposit — just a figure solid enough to build the whole move around.
Fire it off on a weekday and the reply usually lands within the hour.
